Appearance

Hedera's appearence is fairly average for his mix, his left ear flops forward, but his right stands upright. His coat is a light blue-gray merle pattern, with patches of solid black, tan undersides, and a white underbelly leading into a half-collar of white around his neck. Hedera's front right leg displays a tattoo of an ivy vine wrapped around it; this is a somewhat visual repesentation of his name. In addition, his fur seems perpetually covered in dry, dead leaves, and while Hedera tries his best to remove them, it usually doesn't stay that way for long.

Inventory

Wrapped around Hedera's waist is a band holding two small satchels on either side, which he uses to carry an assortment of items, including two books - the most important of which is a small, mostly blank-paged journal that he uses to keep track of any new plants he comes across, including sketches of their leaf shapes or flowers, as well as the general area where they've been found in the past.

The other one is a pre-written list of plants, filled with information about the plants you can eat, the ones that can kill you, and common uses for both. It might not be the most extensive, but it's suitable enough of an identification guide. In the other satchel, kept separate from the books, is several trinkets he's picked up across his travels outside of Astavium's city limits.

Personality

Hedera is full of energy and always ready to explore, regularly found having walked off a path in search of even the smallest of new discoveries. He's a very excitable person, and enjoys meeting new people and sharing his interests with them, though sometimes he might talk a bit too much for anyone to keep up. Despite his love of meeting new friends, Hedera can get overwhelmed quickly and becomes anxious around strangers.

He can also be stubborn at times, which may possibly lead to arguments. Hedera is not a canine with any semblance of combat experience, and would much rather run away with even a slim chance of escape than face a threat head-on. This approach to fights, coupled with his stubbornness, can cause him to avoid someone for days if an argument occurs, leaving him struggling to think of how to approach them again.

Adustum glows a soft green, and while they didn't expect their presence to be taken so seriously that Hedera would start training for exploration practically seconds after they showed up, as his familiar, Adustum believes it's duty is to guide their bond partner along on whatever he's doing - as a result, it manifests every time Hedera goes out to explore, acting as a second pair of eyes for a bit of extra protection.

It is a very sociable familiar, interacting with other canines through moving objects and body language in attempt to communicate directly, even if they have a familiar of their own who would be able to relay the message. Only if close friends, or the other party doesn't get what was communicated, do they speak with their familiars.

Relationships

Fausta & Zephyri

Some of Hedera's friends. They travelled all the way from their home city of Astavium to Myrkur together, and gained a decent relationship over the course of the journey. Between Fausta's accurate predictions, and Zephyri's logical approach to situations, Hedera has grown to trust the both of them whole-heartedly!
